... Compact and lightweight this device comes fully assembled and has a succinct, easy to follow instruction book and initial set up is a breeze. ACRA has the appearance and feel of a dependable device and is recommended by the manufacturer as intended for use by adults and should not be used by minors.
(read cautions).
Getting started: ACRA consists of 3 parts: Main ACRA control unit, grounding wrist strap , tweezers and AC power cord. Included is an attractive, sturdy carry / storage case which nicely organizes the components in segmented compartments. The main control unit is small (about the size of a cell phone) and has two ports, one for the tweezers (plugs into one end of the control unit) and the other for the AC power cord (plugs into the other end of the control unit). There are two rotary, dial type switches: one for power (left) and one for intensity (right), each has an indicator light, one red the other green. The wrist strap is connected by wire to the tweezers unit and very easily and comfortably affixes to your wrist with an easily manipulated snap closure. The tweezers unit is just the right length and girth to allow a good grip in just about any position and has raised , dimpled buttons for precision application of pressure when closing the tweezer prongs. A key component, the tweezers is constructed of a very comfortable and tactile plastic making the perfect tool to grasp and hold hair. In all, very slick and easy.
How to use:Following the well laid out instruction booklet, connect the AC power cord and tweezers cord to either end of the main control unit and affix the velcro ground strap around your wrist. Plug in the AC power cord to a 110 volt wall outlet and turn on the device with the left control dial, set the AC intensity level (right control dial) to one of three intensity levels. Then coat the hair(s) with conductive gel (supplied). Grasp the hair with the tweezers and wait for the audible "beep" signalling that sufficient current has been applied, then pluck the hair. It takes about 2-3 seconds to treat a single hair with ACRA intensity level set to high. Lower levels will be a few seconds longer, it's that easy. The ACRA is very compact and exceptionally easy to use, further the tweezers are very user friendly so manipulating hairs, even finer ones, is a simple matter, making the process of repeated electrolysis treatments very practical and easy.
What to expect.Electrolysis is a treatment process and it will take time. ACRA will effectively reduce hair re-growth and permanent hair removal cannot be completed in a single treatment of the area. Electrolysis permanently destroys hair. However, even after you completely clear an area in one treatment you will see some re-growth. New growth that you see is not the same hair that you treated originally but fresh anagen hairs, which were resting at the time of the original treatment, not all hair is growing at once - hair grows in cycles. It usually takes 3 to 4 months for all hairs to go through a complete growth cycle and all hairs will need to be electrolyzed before they stop their cycle. After each treatment you will notice about a 20% reduction in hair growth in the treatment area. This reduction is permanent and will compound until there is no more hair growth in the treatment area.
