Aesthetically correct and discreet, Cat Stop is hunter green so blends into gardens and is easy to place using the included ground stake, or may be mounted on a post or wall with the include screw attachment.
Placement outside: The ground stake consists of of two 8 in (20 cm) sections that may be combined or used individually. For higher positioning simply combine them for 16 in (40 cm)high placement, or use just one stake for 8 inch high placement. Cat Stop is easily detached from the ground stake should you wish to move it without pulling up the ground stake. Once detached, Cat Stop measures 6 in (15cm) long,4 in (10 cm) high and 2 in (5 cm) deep so it is very stable and easily placed on most any flat indoor surface. It may also be mounted on a wall, fence, or post (using 2 wood screws,supplied). Powered by a 9 volt battery it will emit about 2,000 activations. May also be powered by the optional AC adaptor instead of the battery.
Versatile, use Catstop indoors or outdoors, so training house cats to stop scratching and clawing position the device near the affected area. Prevent your house cat from bolting outside - just place Catstop near the door. Keep the cat from clawing furniture place Cat Stop next to the sofa. Same idea for keeping cats off of counters and tables. I tested Cat Stop on our house cat for all of these purposes and found it very effective.
For effective indoor use: Oddly enough, Cat Stop does not have an on/off switch, so the device is always on. As such the motion detector triggers very easily and "sees" motion in an 80 degree arc, 20 feet deep, in front of the device and will trigger whenever there's motion near it, so the cat will hear the corrective tone even when it's behaving fine and that must be avoided. To avoid this, use it prudently, ie only at night time when cats are roaming the house while you're in bed, or , when you aren't home etc. When your household is active with people simply lay Catstop face down , or remove it to a drawer to avoid constant triggering which will only serve to torment and confuse your cat. Cats are very intelligent and will learn quickly to cease destructive behavior and to avoid forbidden spaces after one or two encounters with Catstop. Following that you'll discover that the device can simply be left in place, battery removed, and the mere sight of CatStop will deter the cat. Catstop is as useful indoors as sentry as it is outdoors.
Used instead of, or in tandem with scatmat or scarecrow, Cat Stop is a very effective, versatile and humane product for keeping cats out of gardens or training house cats to stop scratching and clawing.
