Cat Stop is manufactured by Contech Electronics, makers of Scatmat and Scarecrow, both highly effective, well made animal behavior modification products. So, If you have a cat that's cautious enough to avoid highly effective Scatmat , or, Scarecrow (great to stop dogs from digging and general protection of your garden from most animals).

Made from strong, lightweight high-impact plastic, Cat Stop utilizes a large motion detection eye that triggers a highly effective , corrective ultrasonic tone when movement is detected within its 20 foot (330 square feet)field of sight.

Cat Stop, hunter green in color, blends in well and is easily placed outside at a lawn or garden by inserting its ground stake into the earth making it ideal for keeping cats out of gardens. The ground stake is made of two 8 in (20 cm) sections that may be combined if you require one 16 in (40 cm) stake. Cat Stop is easily detached from the ground stake should you wish to move it without pulling up the ground stake. Once detached, Cat Stop measures 6 in (15cm) long,4 in (10 cm) high and 2 in (5 cm) deep so it is very stable and easily placed on most any flat indoor surface. It may also be mounted on a wall, fence, or post (using 2 wood screws,supplied).

Versatility for positioning indoors or outdoors makes Cat stop useful for training house cats to stop scratching and clawing and keeping your cat inside - just place it near the door. I tested Cat Stop on our house cat and found it very effective. The motion detector triggers very easily and "sees" motion in an 80 degree arc, 20 feet deep, in front of the device. I found this device MUCH better than a similar, devices recently tested.

Used instead of, or in tandem with scatmat or scarecrow, Cat Stop is a very effective, versatile and humane product for keeping cats out of gardens or training house cats to stop scratching and clawing.

    It's easy to use. Place the unit facing the area you want to protect. The built-in motion sensor detects the animal entering the area and emits a piercing, high decibel alarm.     Q: How does the CatStop work?
    A: The CatStop has a built in motion sensor that detects any animal that comes into it’s range of view. When activated it emits an extremely loud, but high pitched, noise that only cats can hear.     A: Under average use, a good quality alkaline batter should last approximate 8 – 9 months.

    Q: Is it easy to assemble?
    A: Yes! CatStop assembly requires absolutely no tools. Simply snap the stake onto the main unit. (two stakes are included so you can use the CatStop at varying heights. If you choose, you can also easily mount your CatStop on a wall, fence or post).

    Q: Is it weather proof?
    A:Yes! The CatStop is weather proof and can be left outdoors in all conditions. Please note that battery life may be diminished under colder temperatures.

    Q: Does the CatStop work on other animals?
    A: The CatStop has been specifically designed to the hearing range of cats. It has not been designed to deter other animals such as raccoons, deer, birds, rats, etc. However the Scarecrow works on a variety of animals.

    Q: Which product works better for deterring cats; the Scarecrow or CatStop?
    A: While both products are excellent products for deterring cats, the Cat Stop can be used places where the Scarecrow is not ideal (anywhere that spraying water would be unacceptable or when a water source is not easily available). For instance, the Cat Stop is a perfect solution for keeping cats out of carports and garden beds near public walkways. The Scarecrow has a larger sensing range and is an excellent device for keeping cats off lawns, and away from ponds and gardens.
