... Lentek's Fly Catcher and E-trap use attractant technology to trap and kill indoor flies through dehydration. The ultraviolet light lures flies, then, the fan of Fly-catcher and electric stun grid of E-trap, respectively, disable cluster flies and other flying insects then trap and dehydrate pests in a collection chamber.

Seeking escape to the outside, flies are naturally attracted to bright lights and usually collect on window panes. During bright, daylight hours, Flycatcher's attractant effectiveness is lessened because windows offer a brighter light source, so don't expect really strong performance then. Instead use it at night, early morning, or dusk and it'll fill up with house flies and especially cluster flies.

E-trap has a much larger, brighter attractant area and will lure flies and cluster flies even during daylight hours and may be wall mounted or placed free standing. At only inches wide, it can be placed more easily on a window ledge or table top than Flycatcher.

Placement is important, especially with cluster flies, so, to clean up cluster flies faster I found it best to place the trap as close as possible to a window where cluster flies accumulate during the day and they will be lured directly to the trap as daylight fades. Cluster flies are rather dormant late at night and may not roam to the ultraviolet light - get them when they're still active at dusk or early morning and in short order you'll find every cluster fly gone from the window ! House flies tend to roam at all hours, so you can place Fly Trap or E-Trap most anywhere and in the morning you'll be sure to find the house fly trapped inside. Oh, a word of advice, open the trap outside when you are ready to empty the collection chamber, otherwise any live flies will escape right back inside. It takes time for the flies to be killed by dehydration and you haven't any way of knowing how long flies have been inside the trap - they may still be able to fly. Cold outsdie air will kill the flies quickly so you won't have to be concerned about them re-entering your home.
