... undulating finger massage, rather this method is mechanical and similar to a blood pressure cuff where steady pressure of an inflatable air bladder is applied, in this case one zone at a time, for each zone: foot, ankle/calf and thigh. The hand control is an air pump which inflates a chamber thus exerting a measured amount of direct pressure at each zone, in turn, pressure is exerted on the entire area as the massage boot tightens. Each chamber inflates, starting with the foot, working upward toward the thigh and pressure is held for a moment at all zones, once all zones are pressurized, then deflated simultaneously. Optionally, you may isolate and target any one of the three massage zones and select low, medium or high pressure settings. After just a few minutes of massage the results were quite noticeable - my legs felt very invigorated.
Set up was simple and operating the hand, external pump control is straightforward and uncomplicated. Two Piece Compression Boot allows custom positioning on thigh because it is independent of the lowere leg section. I am impressed with this product, it was easy to put on and adjust.
You'll find varying prices for Air Massage Boots, I've examined only the "Purple Star" and original Air relax products from Nitring and can tell you they're a durable and well made from a nylon weave material. Borders, stitching and seams are well applied, and the velcro fasteners are of good quality. The rubber air hoses and hose fittings are solid and well attached. The electronic hand control is both lightweight and large enough to be held comfortably so I expect its ergonomic design would be suitable persons with arthritis too. The three raised control buttons (on-off, zone, speed) are well spaced, easily seen and manipulated and the led status indicators are well spaced too.
What's the difference between this product and others? Is of high quality and proven effective for more than 5 years. Applies massage to the lower leg, and, has an optional upper section for massage to thighs. Other products on the market may not have the separate thigh massage option. Has adjustable Velcro for custom sizing for calf up to 18 inches in circumference. Will accommodate a thigh up to 27 inches in circumference. Sold as a pair and include two lower and two upper leg massage cuffs.
"A study of patients who were hospitalized because of life-threatening blood clots after hip replacement surgery shows that pneumatic compression external devices that massage the legs- can dramatically lower the risk..." (USA Today Dec. 14, 2000).

Hi Greg,
I just wanted to let you know how much I love my massage boots!
I was in a motorcycle accident 6 years ago today(Oct 31,'04) and almost lost my leg.
I struggle with daily pain because of screws in my ankle and a bar in my femor bone. I had noticed everytime I was in the hospital and massage boots were used on my legs, they felt so much better...that is why I wanted them so badly.
I have used them for about two weeks now and my leg feels so much better after my days at work...standing as a teacher.
It has been well worth the wait!
Thanks again for your responses to my emails.
Enjoy your day...
Linda
