...swept away, pun not intended. Robotic Vacuum runs on a bank of rechargeable batteries, included, and is very simple to operate. Just turn it on, point it where you want it to go and it'll run for 45 minutes before requiring a battery re-charge. The red LED turns on to signal low power and a green LED signals fully charged, just plug in to the provided power cord overnight and Robot Vacuum is at your service once more. You'll be amazed at just how much dust and debris this little fellow actually picks up, especially pet hair. Smart technology automatically determine one of three pre-programmed cleaning patterns: Random for tight spaces; Spiral mode for large open areaes; Along-the-Wall for room perimeters.
What should you expect ? Robotic vacuum is reasonably effective on low pile carpeting and excels on wood floors, ceramic and other hard surfaces. When it encounters an area rug the device will either clean, or, avoid it depending on it's profile. Likewise when high, solid obstacles are encountered it'll gently touch, then turn to an open area, travel along edges and move away from walls and closed doors. Will get stuck ? Yes, just like the very expensive Robot vacuums this device will become entangled or corralled by power cords, or maze-like furniture configurations. That said, it's amazing to see just how nimble RobotVacuum is at extracting itself from beneath dinning room chairs, stools and tables, but it will need your help at times. Robotic Vacuum excels in open spaces on hard surfaces, beneath beds and high furniture.
Our personal trial. After four weeks of regular use Robot Vacuum is still going strong. My wife uses Robotic Vacuum as an assistant while she's doing other tasks such as dusting and straightening up and I often set him to work while working at my desk during the day. Should Robotic Vacuum get hung-up it's just a matter of freeing him and setting the device on a clear path. The internal debris bin will contain about two 45 minute vacuumings, is easy to empty and its pre-filter shakes clean without any difficulty. A really nifty feature is the dust-cloth pad on the underside that accepts typical, rectangular, quilted dry cloths. This mechanism picks up any dust and hair that the vacuum misses so you really get a thorough job done.
So what's the difference in this and the very expensive robotic vacuums ? Docking stations. Other robotic vacuums include re-charge / storage ports, often termed docking stations, to which the robot vacuum will automatically find its way to, park there and re-charge. Balancing afford ability with performance, the P3 Robotic vacuum requires that you carry the product to a wall outlet and plug in the vacuum to the recharge cord to refresh its bank of batteries. So why pay an additional $100 to $300 dollars for something easily done yourself ? I'm thinking docking stations may just be an unnecessary, expensive add-on, for my budget at least.
In summation, The P3 International Robotic Vacuum is an effective cleaning tool for removal of dust, pet hair, crumbs and general dirt. Best used as an assistant when you have other things to do, not fully independent it will require rescue at times. The product is durable, well made and most of all affordable. I liken The P3 Robotic Vacuum to the "Honda" of the market, affordable, reliable it's all you really need. Unless you prefer an automatic docking station the P3 RobotVacuum will likely suffice and clean to the same standard as the best of them without cleaning your wallet.
