Motion activated, SssCat may be used with cats, dogs rabbits, ferrites, etc. We've found cats to be very trainable using SssCat and in a short period of time become highly cautious and will avoid it's very presence even when it's not activated. Most dogs will avoid SssCat also, but may not be affected by the device to the extent cats are, unless the device is accurately set up to spray at the level of their nose and face. Some younger, playful dogs may find it amusing and make sport of playing with the device. Highly adjustable, the spray nozzle angle/height can be directed vertically and a horizontal left-right adjustment to help customize effectiveness. May be set for tone and spray ; just tone, or, fully off. This multi-adjustment ability make the product versatile enough to accommodate most pets and maximize effectiveness. The ideal sentry: because it's very location specific and has an isolated reach of about 1 meter for targeting a specific smaller spot, compared to an ultrasonic device such as ( i.e. CatStop,) which has a broader reach that will affect an entire room. This also means the Ssscat won't constantly be triggered by normal household traffic/motion. Serves very well for isolated trouble spots: male cat urine spraying ; cat clawing a sofa edge; dog or cat scratching a door ,or weather stripping; cat or dog invading a counter top. SssCat placed at these specific problem areas will, in most cases, quickly end the problem.Training sequence: For the first few days use the sound/spray mode: a tone and spray will trigger simultaneously when the motion detector senses movement. Once your pet learns to associate the warning tone with the spray, switch to tone only mode to conserve compressed air: just the tone will deter your cat or dog. Following this, merely the presence of the device itself will cause your pet to avoid the forbidden spot, so go ahead and turn both tone and spray off if you like. Helpful tips:For larg breed, or giant breed dogs , if the adjustable spray angle isn't sufficient, try raising the device slightly by sitting it on a book. For very intelligent ,or highly adaptive pets turn SssCat toward a wall or corner to guard a specific , small area to avoid false triggering. Sensor detects motion up to 1 meter (1 yard) away and activates spray, compressed air - odorless, harmless, stainless.Specifically, the SssCat refill contains a gas (HFC134a) that is safe for people, animals and the environment.
