The manufacturer promotes the new , Pro Series models, as having stronger sound output and have upgraded it to waterproof from water resistant, so it's appropriate for outdoor use. Just to be sure, I placed a sample unit in the shower, on full, for 5 minutes. Result ? Bone dry inside the case, turned on the power and it worked !
Furthermore, Bark Free Pro BF01 and Super Bark Free Pro BF02 are smaller than their predecessor so there more discreet and very easily wall mounted or placed free-standing. Super has greater sound output range than the regular model BF01. Both, like their predecessor have a sliding sensitivity control and audible sound output selector so you can custom adjust the internal pick-up microphone to the sound of dog barking. Remember, the device is triggered when the pick-up microphone detects the dog's bark - set the device to ultrasonic from audible once adjusted to the correct range.
Power: Both models take four D size batteries for remote operation and can alternately use the included A/C adaptor with a 50 foot low lead cable so you aren't dependant on just battery power.
Bark FreeŽ Pro BF01 or, Super Bark Free Pro BF02, what's the difference ? Both models function the same, but, Super BF02, has two additional speakers to achieve an effective range of 50-60 feet and it has a timer so you can set the device to operate just when problem barking occurs. Super BF02 may have a remote control option in future, but it's not available yet. In my opinion, BF02 , having greater output range, would best be used to control a neighboring dog. Use the regular model BF01, with an effective range of 30-40 feet, for training your own dog to stop barking because you have the luxury of placing the device optimally and very near the dog, something that's often difficult to accomplish for the dog next door. Whichever model you select it's critical to realize the closer the device is placed, according to the device's respective range, to the barking dog the better the results will be for training a dog to stop barking.
Important considerations: Consistency of negative reinforcement,the ultrasonic tone, is associated with barking ONLY if the device triggers. Both models are triggered and deliver an effective corrective tone (either ultrasonic,or, audible depending on the setting you select) when the internal pick-up microphone "hears" barking. Otherwise the device will sit dormant, or trigger intermittently rather than consistently. Once triggered, BF02 will deliver a corrective tone up to a distance 50, possibly 60 feet: BF01 up to 30, possibly 40 Feet. So once more the best advice is: the closer the better ! Results can vary according the dog's age, breed, temperament, health and intelligence.
